September 14, 2017 TOWN BOARD MEETING


Town Board Meeting  -  September 14, 2017

The Middle Inlet Town Board Meeting of September 14, 2017, was Called
to Order by Chairperson Wade at 7:30 P.M.

Roll Call indicated Supervisors Van and Wenzel and  Clerk/Treasurer
Stanek were present. 

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited.

 The Agenda was approved on a Motion by Van and seconded by Wenzel. 
Motion carried.  (3 to 0)

The Minutes of the previous Town Board Meeting of August 10, 2017,
were presented and Approved on a Motion by Van and seconded by Wenzel.
 Motion carried.  (3 to 0)

The September, 2017, Vouchers representing total disbursements of 
$129,438.71, were presented.  Motion to Approve made by Wenzel and
seconded by Van.  Motion carried.     (3 to 0)

The Board had submitted a request for a 3 year proposal for snow
plowing and winter road maintenance.  A single proposal was received
from ROAD KING EXCAVATING, Peshtigo, Wisconsin, which quoted an hourly
rate of $95.00.  This is the firm that provided service for the winter
of 2016-2017 and the Board indicated total satisfaction with the past
service.  Motion to accept the proposal was made by Van and seconded
by Wenzel.  Motion carried.  (3 to 0)

Wade reported that he met with a property owner regarding a proposed
subdivision of a parcel located in Section 5, T.32N.-R.21E., which is
located along the North shore of Lake Noquebay.  He indicated this
proposal was being submitted to Marinette Co. for their review. 
Stanek indicated there may be some concerns regarding compliance with
Town of Middle Inlet Ordinance – Chapter 405-SUBDIVISION OF LAND.  A
Variance Request may be needed.

Wade had received a donation request from MARINETTE CO. ELDERLY
It was noted that there are no monies budgeted for donations,
therefore the request could not be considered at this time.

Wade presented a brief report regarding recently completed patching of
various Town roads – CREEK ROAD, MOONSHINE HILL ROAD (East & West),
signage on CREEK ROAD / RUEFF ROAD area regarding a caution “TRACTOR
CROSSING” and advisory speed limit.

Routine Fall grading of gravel roads is scheduled.

The DNR is scheduling a 2018 replacement of the handicap fishing pier
and new floating launching piers for the Town Boat Landing on the
North shore of Lake Noquebay.

Wade reported that $184.00 was obtained from the “Donation Receptacle”
at the boat launch.

A recent survey of the West end of RECTOR ROAD indicates that the Town
road extends to the lake shore.  An adjacent property owner has
indicated a donation of a portion of land to accommodate the
construction of a cul de sac at this point.

The W.T.A. meeting next week will discuss the new information on road

Wade added that all the road projects have been completed and required
shouldering is scheduled by the end of the month.  Despite all the
weather related set backs, the Town road improvements will be within

Planning Commission:	N/R

Fire Department:                     
The “Structure Burn Agreement” has been amended and presented for
Board review.     A Motion to Approve was made by Van and seconded by
Wenzel.  Motion carried.

A proposal to replace the exterior light fixture with LED equivalent
units around the Fire Station was submitted by INLET ELECTRIC, INC. 
Proposal cost would be  $1,674.00.
Estimated savings per year would be  $815.00.  The Board will consider
the proposal and table to a future meeting.

Garbage / Recycling:              
Van reported the NORTHWOOD’S RECYCLING COALITION  has scheduled a
meeting at 6:00 P.M., Monday, September 18, 2017.  This will determine
the future status of the coalition and distribution of assets in the
event the coalition disbands.

Town Hall:   			
 The electrical contractor has removed the exterior light fixture from
the old Town sign base.  The installation of the new sign is still

The properties on ELLIS LANE (N9224 and N9236) are pending compliance
per legal council.

The  property on SWEETHEART CITY ROAD (W7586) is dependent on the
eviction of the tenant THOMAS MALCHOW, by the new owners.  Once this
is completed, they indicated their cooperation in correcting the

The NEAR NORTH MUNICIPAL COURT COMMITTEE has a meeting scheduled  at
6:30 P.M., Monday, September 25, 2017, at the Stephenson Town Hall. 
The Agenda includes organizational activities of the committee –
election of a Chairperson and Secretary, and the recommendations for
establishment of a salary of the municipal court judge, which complies
with Wisconsin Statutes s.s. 755.04 and the “Intergovernmental
Agreement” relative to the joint municipal court.

A concern that was expressed regarding a recently installed culvert on
ELINOR DRIVE was reviewed by  Wade and a local contractor.   This
review indicated there was need for an adjustment which will be

There being no further business before the Board, Wade requested a
Motion to Adjourn.  Motion made by Wenzel and seconded by Van.  Motion
carried (3 to 0) and Meeting was Adjourned at 7:55 P.M.
