June 8, 2017 TOWN BOARD MEETING

TOWN  OF  MIDDLE  INLET

Town Board Meeting  -  June 8, 2017


The Middle Inlet Town Board Meeting of June 8, 2017, was Called to
Order by Chairperson Wade at 7:30 P.M.

Roll Call indicated Supervisor Van and  Clerk/Treasurer Stanek were
present. 
Supervisor Wenzel was absent and unexcused.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited.

 The Agenda was approved on a Motion by Van and seconded by Wade. 
Motion carried.  (2 to 0)

The Minutes of the previous Town Board Meeting of May 11, 2017,  were
presented and Approved on a Motion by Van and seconded by Wade. 
Motion carried.  (2 to 0)

The June, 2017, Vouchers representing total disbursements of 
$14,906.45, were presented.  Motion to Approve made by Van and
seconded by Wade.  Motion carried.     (2 to 0)

The Board opened and reviewed the Bids for the following Road
Projects:

MOONSHINE HILL – East

Van made a Motion to award all projects to SCOTT CONSTRUCTION, INC. 
This was seconded by Wade.  Motion carried.  (2 to 0)
The Board formally adopted Chapter 340 –  SEXUAL OFFENDER PLACEMENT,
as part of the Town of Middle Inlet CODE OF ORDINANCES.  Said action
on a Motion by Van and seconded by Wade.  Motion carried.  (2 to 0) 
Said Chapter will be effective upon publication as provided by law.

The Board reviewed the following business applications , with the
applicable individual background checks:

These license applications were Approved on a Motion by Van and
seconded by Wade.
Motion carried.  (2 to 0)

 Due to the past election, whereby RONALD S. WENZEL was elected as a
Town Board Supervisor, it is necessary to remove him as an “Alternate
Member” of the Board of Review – Ref: Middle Inlet Town Ordinance,
Chapter 128 – BOARD OF REVIEW –
(ARTICLE II – Alternate Members).

Following a search for a replacement, a request for a volunteer was
made.  Mary L. Wade
indicated she would serve.  A Motion to appoint her was made by Van
and seconded by Wade.  Motion carried.  (2 to 0)  Said Ordinance will
be amended to reflect this action.

COMMUNICATIONS:    
Stanek reported that he has received correspondence indicating that
following the inclusion of the Village of Wausaukee, the compensation
for the Municipal Judge is capped at $00.00 per month.  Therefore, the
monthly cost per municipality will be $80.00.  ($400.00 divided by 5 =
$80.00)                
 

REPORTS:

Roads:

Wade reported on various road maintenance issues  following recent
storms – washouts and tree trimming/removal.  Routine patching has
been completed.  The MOONSHINE HILL ROAD Project – paving should begin
June 12th. 

Planning Commission:	N/R

Fire Department:  
 It was previously requested that Chairperson Wade schedule a Special
Town Board Meeting to meet with the State Fire Coordinator, CARL
FRISQUE to clarify over-all compliance with the “2% Fire Dues”
program.

Said Special Town Board Meeting was scheduled to be held on Thursday,
May 18, 2017, at 10:00 A.M.  Chief Coddington contacted Mr. Frisque
however, Mr. Frisque could not attend due a scheduling conflict. 
Therefore, Wade will contact Mr. Frisque directly and set up a
conference rather than a Special Town Board Meeting.

Chief Coddington had indicated some concern regarding the crack
development of the parking lot areas.  Wade has contacted the paving
firm (FAHRNER Asphalt Sealers) and has scheduled the re-sealing
project at a proposed cost of $4,125.00.  This cost will be shared
equally between the Fire Dept. Account and the Town Hall Account.

Chief Coddington indicated that the Fire Dept. WILL NOT hold an annual
picnic this year.

Garbage / Recycling:    
   
The trash collection schedule has been altered – if a Holiday falls on
Monday, collection will be schedule the following Tuesday

 “Notice of Nuisance” was sent via CERTIFIED MAIL to each of the
property owners involved in the properties on ELLIS LANE (N9224 and
N9236).  Compliance follow-up 
per legal council

Stanek reminded the public that the 2017 OPEN BOOK will be held on
Thursday,       June 29, 2017, from 1:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.  The 2017
BOARD of REVIEW will immediately follow from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.,
or until all business is completed.

There being no further business before the Board, Wade requested a
Motion to Adjourn.  Motion made by Van and seconded by Wade.  Motion
carried (2 to 0) and Meeting was Adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
