February 8, 2018 TOWN BOARD MEETING


Town Board Meeting  -  February 8, 2018

The Middle Inlet Town Board Meeting of February 8, 2018, was Called to
Order by Chairperson Wade at 7:30 P.M.

Roll Call indicated Supervisors Van and Wenzel and  Clerk/Treasurer
Stanek were present. 

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited.

Motion to Approve the Agenda made by Van and seconded by Wenzel. 
Motion carried.

The Minutes of the previous Town Board Meeting of January 11, 2018, 
and the were presented and Approved on a Motion by Wenzel and seconded
by Van.  Motion carried.  (3 to 0)

The February, 2018, Vouchers representing total disbursements of 
$58,985.88, were presented. Stanek advised the Board that the February
Tax Settlement was not included in this total.  Additional
disbursements will be generated prior to February 20, 2018,  Motion to
Approve made by Van and seconded by Wenzel.  Motion carried.  (3 to

Olson Camp 5 Gravel, Inc. had submitted a billing for snow plowing at
the Town Hall 
and the two Fire Stations.  It was indicated they wished to donate the
$400.00 charged for plowing at the Fire Dept. Stations, and credited
the account accordingly.  A letter of appreciation was sent on behalf
of the Town.     

Great American Disposal Co. submitted a separate billing for past
collection services that were erroneously missing from previous
billings.  Payment was made as part of this months vouchers.

The Northwood’s Recycling Coalition has scheduled a workshop with
representatives of the DNR regarding recycling grants, required
reporting and registering as a “Responsible Unit”.  This workshop will
be held on February 21, 2018, 1:00 P.M., at the Stephenson Town Hall.



Wade presented a brief report regarding winter maintenance. 

Planning Commission:	N/R

Fire Department:   	

Chief Coddington has submitted his resignation as Fire Chief due to
family matters.  
He indicated he will stay on as an active member.  Assistant Chief
will serve as Fire Chief for the duration of the current term.  

Chief Johnston reported on a single call involving a vehicular fire.

Garbage / Recycling: 
The Northwoods Recycling Coalition has scheduled a meeting at the
Middle Inlet Town Hall at 6:00 P.M., on Monday, April 2, 2018.  The
future of the coalition will be reviewed.

The situation regarding the “problem properties” was briefly reviewed.

The legal case regarding the THOMAS N. BUHR situation has been
resolved per Legal Council.

A brief public comment was made regarding the placement of sex
offenders within the community and the effectiveness of the Town
Ordinance addressing this issue.  It would appear that all is
dependant on purposed legal changes at the State level.

There being no further business before the Board, Wade requested a
Motion to Adjourn.  Motion made by Van and seconded by Wenzel.  Motion
carried  (3 to 0), and Meeting   Adjourned at 7:43 P.M.
